The purpose of the Richland County Ag in the Classroom (AITC) Program is to educate students and teachers about how agriculture is a part of their daily lives.  By incorporating more information about food, fiber, fuel, and nutrition into daily lessons, students will better understand the role of agriculture.  Our free programs include 45-minute monthly lessons to students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classrooms in Richland County, weekly after-school agriculture programs, agri-tourism, and summer agricultural opportunities for students.

 

With 1 in every 6 jobs being tied to agriculture, we feel the value of our AITC programming is of critical importance to the youth of Richland County.  Whether a child is learning about where milk comes from or the difference between corn and soybeans, teaching agriculture has never been more relevant.

 

The Richland County Farm Bureau Foundation believes in the future of agriculture and strives to provide opportunities for Richland County seniors furthering their education an agriculture-related field.  This year alone, the Richland County Farm Bureau Scholarship Program awarded $800 to four Richland County seniors, thanks to the gracious contributions from our sponsors.
